A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CYPRESS-KNEE SANTAS

Cypress-knees are actually extensions of the Cypress tree sent up by the roots of the swamp-loving bald Cypress tree.  These "Knees" must be stripped and cleaned before they can be carved.  When I shop for the Cypress knees, I look at each one and try to visualize a Santa figure.  I carve the figures according to the shape of the individual knee.  In other words, the Santa is already there----I just carve the details.  Usually, these Santas are whimsical figures when they are completed.

The Cypress-Knee Santas are gaining in popularity because of their uniqueness; and many folks are interested in adding them to their collections.
